This is a mood board I've put together for a themed event I am hosting with a very dear friend of mine, the theme is aztec rose which I just feel represents current trends and the season so perfectly. I love being festive at this time of year in Melbourne. Everyone has a grin on their face knowing that summing is around the corner and the social calendar springs to life with the warmer weather to celebrate with friends and family, it's the smaller things in life that make you happy.

This has been my favourite tip to date. There's a great 'how to' video on doing a really easy and professional 'up-do bun' that makes you look really polished and put together in no time at all.

Calling all Melbourne Foodies

The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is such a fun time of year to celebreate the wonderful things Melbourne has to offer. I always find that each year Melbourne discovers a new way to offer a little more in terms of creativity and excitement for your senses. For me, there is nothing better than being amazed or 'wowed' by a new concept, food styling idea or a little something that you can take home with you and apply to your own social life.

This picture started that little bit of excitement in me today - it's also Friday and can't wait to sip on a cocktail this evening.

I thought this concept was amazing, these gorgeous retro basins are connected to a cocktail keg.

Don't the orange slices contrast so well with the pastel colours of the basins. I especially love this as my lovely Nana has one of these basins at home too. I might convince her to have a cocktail with me!

Summer creations with a little sumthin sumthin

Summer is such a delightful time to enjoy with friends. I've always loved surprising friends with a little sumthin sumthin when they're over.

Over NYE my friends and I had a Mexican Fiesta - such a celebration. We had a mojito trolley for cocktails and the freshest bbq snapper in a burrito. Divine. I stumbled across these photos on 'The Cool Hunter' on facebook.com/thecoolhunter that I wish I had seen before our NYE party - bite sized tacos w a summer sipper cocktail. The presentation is so fresh and would have been so memorable - depending on how many cocktails you enjoyed.
